Col Venezia Mestre, squadra già incontrata nei raggruppamenti e alla portata dei friulani, ne è uscita una partita gradevole e combattuta che è finita 3 a 2 in favore dei veneti, ma che ha evidenziato segnali positivi per il prosieguo del torneo. E’ stata quindi la volta del Parma, ma purtroppo anche con gli emiliani i Tuttineri udinesi sono stati poco attenti e non hanno giocato ai livelli ai quali sono soliti giocare. La partita con il Bassano si è conclude 3 a 2 in favore dei veneti, anche se sarebbe bastato poco di più di quello che è stato fatto per aggiudicarsi il risultato. Nella finale per il fondo della classifica Udine ha incontrato il Mogliano B e il torneo per i Tuttineri si è concluso con un pareggio (1-1). Dopo una domenica così storta è rimasto il rammarico per aver perso un’occasione nella consapevolezza però che il gruppo è di qualità e che non appena troverà le giuste motivazioni avrà sicuramente altre occasioni per riscattarsi.
Girone di qualificazione di alto livello per i ragazzi dell’under 12: il Varese Rugby, i padroni di casa del Mogliano e il Benetton Treviso sono state nell’ordine le prime avversarie della giornata. Contro i lombardi e il Mogliano si sono giocate le partite più difficili: in particolare questi ultimi si sono dimostrati ancora una volta di un altro livello. I progressi ci sono comunque stati e contro la Benetton, la Junior ha lottato punto a punto, perdendo nel finale a causa di un evidente calo di concentrazione. In semifinale l’avversario è stato il Foscarini Rugby di Venezia: anche in questo incontro il risultato era alla portata dei giovani udinesi, ma qualche distrazione di troppo è costata la partita. Dopo il pranzo si è giocata la finale con il Bassano: i Tuttineri, incapaci di reagire alla prima meta dei veneti, hanno ceduto alla maggiore determinazione degli avversari. Le distrazioni e la concentrazione hanno sicuramente condizionato le prestazioni dei friulani, argomento che i tecnici affronteranno in settimana, anche con il supporto dello skills coach Francesco ‘Citti’ Cittaro.
